City of Kingston engaged Propella.ai as they wanted a clear view on the types of visitors to the beach and surrounds, to help plan and manage future infrastructure, and traffic management from the wider Melbourne area in the summer months.
By "geofencing" Carrum Beach Foreshore for the City of Kingston, Propella.ai analysed the approximate home locations of people who visited this geofenced area, distance they travelled from home, dwell time (Average Visit) and frequency (Repeat Visitors).
Propella.ai discovered that an estimated only 22% of Carrum Beach visitors live in the City of Kingston, additionally 36% of visitors to Carrum Beach travel further than 20km from their homes.
Repeat visitors accounted for 27% of visitors, and the busiest days of the week and hours of the day were identified to help City of Kingston manage the foreshore. Psychographic insights were delivered to help plan amenity, services and experiences that will resonate with these visitors.
The unique history of Kingston can be found in our buildings, monuments, neighbourhoods, landscapes, waterways and native areas.
Their heritage begins from the sites and culture of the original inhabitants, the Bunurong people.
The built environment has shaped the grand city since its beginnings in the 1840s, from the growth of the railways during the interwar periods to the development of seaside areas to post-war industrial and residential expansion.
City of Kingston's heritage is highly valued by their community, and they support our policies to protect significant landmarks and places.
